Every day, seven people die in home fires, most often in homes without working smoke alarms. That’s why the American Red Cross launched their Home Fire Campaign in 2018 to save lives. The “Sound the Alarm, Save a Life” program from the American Red Cross aims to raise awareness of home fire safety in at-risk neighborhoods across the nation. The American Red Cross partners with local fire departments to educate over 100,000 Americans each year about fire safety.

On March 3, 2021, the Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway renewed its Partnership with the American Red Cross to acquire 30 home Smoke Alarms to be installed in the Halfway Area Community. The alarms are offered at no cost and are installed by our personnel. In addition to installing the smoke alarms our personnel will assist in a home safety inspection and development of a fire escape plan.

The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway is here to serve you. Our goal is to ensure that every home in our first due area has a working smoke alarm. Help us reach this goal by requesting a home visit on our site. Your safety is our top priority. That’s why we are following the latest guidance from the CDC to reduce the risk of COVID-19 during home visits.
