FALLING WATERS, W.Va. — One person was found dead following a mobile home fire early Thursday morning in the Falling Waters area.
The fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. at 73 Henson Blvd., off Grade Road. It was noticed by neighbors getting ready to go to work, said David Brining, chief of the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department. The mobile home, which also had an addition, was about 50% engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Brining said.
Brining said the victim was found where the heaviest fire was in the home. He couldn't identify the person because authorities are arranging for an autopsy to make a positive identification. He could not say if the decedent was male or female, but he said it was an adult. One person lived in the home, Brining said.
The fire was contained to the heavily damaged area, though the rest of the structure had smoke damage. The cause was still under investigation Thursday afternoon.
