Halfway Responds to Working Fire In Williamsport On Box 2-1

On the afternoon of April 4th, Halfway responded to Williamsport on box 2-1 for the House Fire. ECC received multiple calls reporting the fire along with reports of a man trapped on a roof. Crews arrived with a working fire with one occupant on a roof. Firefighters were able to conduct a rescue of the victim on the roof while a hose line was advanced to battle the fire. Crews quickly brought the afternoon blaze under control.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist a family of three that were displaced by the fire. One occupant was transported with serious injuries to Meritus Medical Center. The cause of was determined to be from improperly discarded smoking material. Estimated loss from the fire is approximately $100,000 between the structure and its contents.
