Halfway Responds To Traumatic Injury

On September 1st, Halfway EMS responded with Community Rescue Service Captain for a Traumatic Injury on Box 26-5. EMS crews evaluated the patient and due to the mechanism of injury, Maryland State Police Aviation was requested. Halfway Fire responded to the Valley Mall area to establish and secure a Landing Zone (LZ) for the incoming Helicopter, Trooper 5 from MSP. With the assistance of City Police Auxiliary and Fire Police, the back parking lot behind J C Penny was secured. The patient was transferred over to Trooper 5 at the established LZ and from there, transported to a specialty facility.
