Halfway Responds To Reported Building Fire In Williamsport On Box 2-2

On February 13th, Halfway responded on the completion of Box 2-2 for a possible fire in the duct work at 16410 Industrial Lane. Williamsport Fire & EMS were dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at the facility at 10:06 hours. Shortly after the alarm was received, a 911 call was received reporting a fire in the building. Washington County immediately upgraded the assignment to a Commercial Building Fire and dispatched additional units due on the call at 10:10 hours.

Units arrived to find a light smoke in the building with the building already being evacuated. After a thorough investigation the cause of the smoke was found to be the result of a malfunctioning HVAC Unit for the building. Fire department crews wrapped up operations and cleared the scene.
