Halfway Responds To Outside Fire On Box 26-10

On the early evening of March 28th, Halfway responded for an outside fire in the area of Scarlet Oak Drive in Halfway Manager. Upon arrival crews found a 6x6 area burning directly behind the Apple Blossom Court residences. Firefighters arrived and pulled a hose line to extinguish the fire. While extinguishing the fire, evidence was found leading to the request for a Fire Marshal. Witnesses supplied photos of juveniles in the area during the fire. All identified juveniles and their parents were interviewed by the State Fire Marshal on the scene. It was determined the fire was started by juveniles under the age of 9 and they are being recommended to a Youth Fire Setter Program.
