


Halfway Responds To Garage Fire Box 26-5

On the afternoon of March 24th, Halfway responded out for a working structure fire in the area of Virginia Avenue and Armstrong Avenue. Washington County received several reports of a garage on fire. Heavy smoke could be seen as units approached the scene. The arrived to find a detached garage to the rear of 1300 Virginia Avenue with heavy smoke showing. Firefighters deployed two hose lines and were able to gain control of the blaze within 10 minutes of their arrival.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office. Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage and kept it from spreading. The fire caused approximately $10,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.
