NY truck driver found dead under trailer of overturned rig on I-81 north of Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT — A New York truck driver was found dead under the rig's box trailer early Friday morning after it overturned aside the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 north of Williamsport, authorities said.
The 1:35 a.m. crash occurred between the 3 and 4 mile markers, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.
Maryland State Police said the driver, Nonamegiven Simrat, 31, of Queens, went off the road, causing his rig to overturn. Simrat, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck, state police said in a news release.
A state police spokesman said it's unclear what caused Simrat to drive off the interstate. A reconstructionist will try to determine what caused the crash of the Kenworth truck, which is registered in Mississippi.
At about 6:30 a.m., the rig was laying on its side on the right side of the highway. The northbound lanes were shut down in the area of the crash and traffic was being rerouted onto U.S. 11 while first responders and tow trucks worked at the scene.
The highway was reopened by about 1 p.m., according to dispatchers.
State police were joined at the scene by first responders including fire and rescue crews from Williamsport and Halfway, as well as the Washington County Division of Emergency Services' hazmat and rehab units, the supervisor said.
