Halfway Responds To Assist On Vehicle Accident Near Clear Spring

On October 13th, Engine 261 responded with a crew of 3 to assist on a personal injury accident on Interstate 70 east of the Clear Spring Exit. Units responded for an accident with reports of entrapments and fire. Clear Spring Engine 42 arrived to find three patients with two entrapped and was able to confirm no fire. Command called for an additional Rescue squad to assist with the entrapment along with an additional Medic Unit as well as aviation.

Engine 261 arrived and assisted EMS crews and established a landing zone. Upon completion of extrication, all three patients were packaged and transported by Maryland State Police Aviation’s Troopers 3 & 5. Once all patients were clear, Engine 261 was released and returned to service.
