Chief 26 immediately assumed Command and notified EMS of patient lying in the driveway.
Command conducted his assessment and confirmed all occupants were accounted for, and they had no entrapments. Halfway Engine 261 arrived and stretched an attack-line to the Delta Side carport and began their offensive attack with assistance from Williamsport Engine 21’s crew. As crews began their fire attack, Medic 268 quickly loaded the patient and relocated to begin treatment while Command made the request for aviation and the Safety Assignment. Medic 268 worked up the patient as a Priority 2 Category B Burn Patient.
Command had all hands working with no extra manpower, so a second alarm was requested for manpower. Firefighter were able to gain control and get a knock on the blaze. The patient was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation to Bayview in Baltimore for treatment. The cause of the afternoon blaze was found to be accidental due to unattended cooking.
