Halfway Responds On Box 2-7 Fore House Fire On Kemps Mill Road

On the evening of December 13th, 2021, Halfway was alerted at 20:18 hrs on Box 2-7 to assist Williamsport Fire & EMS for a reported House Fire at 12027 Kemps Mill Road. Washington County received the call reporting a gas grill on fire spreading to the house. Engine 26-1 responded with a crew of 6 on the call. Crews arrived to find a smoldering fire to the rear of the residence. Deputy Chief Nokes of Company 2 established Command and assigned crews to check the residence for any extension from the fire. Interior crews did find a smoke condition In the attic, but no major extension into the house was found.

Command held Company 2 and 4 units for further investigation and released the remainder of the Box. Upon further investigation, Command reported they had a Gas Grill on fire on side Charlie of the structure. Found minor extension into the soffit only. Fire was confirmed out and Command was terminated at 21:23 hrs.
