Halfway Responds To The Ridge Apartments Box 26-10

On the afternoon of March 14th, Halfway responded for an apartment fire on Garden Lane in The Ridge apartment complex. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from a second floor apartment. Firefighters deployed hose lines on both sides of the building. The fire was able to be contained quickly and crews were able to keep damages to a minimum.

The fire was determined to have been started by the occupant of the apartment involved. During the investigation it was learned that the involved occupant had removed several of the fire extinguishers from throughout the building early in the day prior to the fire. The occupant was charged with first-degree arson, malicious burning first-degree, malicious destruction of property over $1,500, and reckless endangerment.

Halfway responded receiving assistance from HFD, Funkstown Fire Company, Williamsport Fire Company, Maugansville Fire Company, and Washington County Air & Rehab.
