Halfway Responds For A Car Into A House

On the evening of May 30th, Halfway was alerted for the Engine and Tower along with mutual aid assistance from Williamsport Fire & EMS and Washington County Special Operations 20 for a personal injury collision on Sheffield Road. Washington County 911 had reports of a vehicle into the house with one still in the vehicle. Chief Ernst arrived to find a passenger car lodged underneath the deck on the back portion of the house with one subject still in the vehicle.
Williamsport Rescue Engine 2 arrived and crews were able to extricate the driver of the vehicle from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was checked out by EMS and appeared uninjured and was turned over to Washington County Sheriff Deputies. Washington County Special Operations arrived and helped shore up the area under the deck to help keep everything stabilized so the vehicle could be removed.
It is currently unknown what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway slamming through a fence and hitting the potion of the house under the deck. Luckily no injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
