The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway, MD, Inc. chose to provide ambulance service to our community in September, 1995. The department started with one-P/L Custom ambulance on a F-350 1995 Ford Chassis (see equipment icon). Our EMS staff began with 1-full time EMS Coordinator/Paramedic and 13-partime advanced life support personnel (Paramedics / Cardiac Rescue Technician)

In 1996 our ambulance responded to 946 calls.

In 1997 our ambulance responded to 981 calls.

In July of 1998 we placed in service our second P/L custom Ambulance and between the two units, they responded to 987 calls.

With the delivery of the second unit, a second paramedic was placed on our staff.

As our community continues to grow, The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway will make ever effort to meet the changing needs. We strive to meet those needs with the same quality of service as we have in the past.
