Halfway Engine 263 responded West Virginia Tanker Fire

APRIL 4TH

Halfway Engine 263 responded to Clear Spring to assist with an outside fire near the AC&T Access Road.

MARCH 29TH

Halfway Fire responded out for a Automatic Fire Alarm at Homewood Retirement Center.  As crews arrived, a follow-up call reported smoke in the building.  Once crews made entry, they confirmed they had a fire on the third flood.  Assistant Chief 26 assumed Command and requested the completion of the Box.  Firefighters were able to make a quick knock down bring the fire under control within minutes.

MARCH 18TH

Halfway Fire responded out with Engine 264 to assist with a Brush Fire to the rear of Morningside Drive in Fairplay Fire Co.12 first due.  Companies 12 and 10 were already on the scene when they saw a need for an additional Brush Unit.  Fire was able to be kept contained to the field involved.  Crews were only on the scene for about an hour.

MARCH 16TH

Halfway Fire responded to assist on an Apartment Building Fire in Funkstown.  Company 10 crews had a majority of the fire knocked upon our arrival.  No injuries were reported at the scene.

MARCH 13TH

Halfway Fire responded for a tractor-trailer on it's side.  Arrived to find the driver confined to the vehicle.  Williamsport & Halfway worked together to make entry and extricate the patient.  The patient suffered minor injuries.

MARCH 11TH

Halfway Fire responded to assist on a large field fire to the rear of the Redman's Club accessing the fire off of Spielman Road.  Crews were committed for several hours as the fire was fed by high winds rapidly spreading the blaze.

MARCH 9TH

Halfway Fire responded to assist on a Mountain Fire in Berkley County.  Mutual Aid was given by Multiple agencies from Washington County including Washington County Rehab unit 255.

FEBRUARY 21ST

Firefighters from Halfway and Funkstown responded for a vehicle fire on I-70.  Engine 264 arrived to find a vehicle fully involved.  Crews were able to conduct a quick knock down, but not before a small fire ball shot out from the car when a portable oxygen cylinder in the back seat exploded.

FEBRUARY 17TH

Halfway Engine 263 responded to Clear Spring to assist with a large field fire.  We were dispatched out due to reports of multiple structures being threatened by the fire.

The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway responds to Farm Storage building fire on Beaver Creek Road.

FEBRUARY 9TH

The Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway lends assistance in South County responding with a BLS Unit to stand-by on the fireground on Hoffmaster Road in Dargan, MD.
